Frequently asked questions

How does the KEY-LOCK system work?
KEY-LOCK is a concealed suspension system for flush plasterboard ceilings. Furring channels clip to top cross rails, and the rails hang from the structure on suspension rods or direct-fix clips. The plasterboard screws to the furring channels, so the finished ceiling shows no grid.
Which KEY-LOCK components does Birak stock?
We supply 25mm and 38mm top cross rails in standard and radiused profiles, furring channels in the common profiles and lengths up to 6.0m, back blocking batten, and the full clip range: suspension clips, direct-fix clips, joiners, and acoustic mounts.
What do acoustic ceiling clips do?
Acoustic clips decouple the ceiling frame from the structure above with a resilient mount. That break cuts the noise and vibration that would otherwise pass straight through rigid fixings, which matters in apartments, hotels, and health projects.
Does Rondo product bought through Birak count toward my Indigenous procurement target?
Yes. Birak is Supply Nation Registered, so every dollar you spend on KEY-LOCK ceiling components through Birak counts toward Commonwealth IPP and state Indigenous procurement targets. We supply audit-ready procurement documentation with every invoice.
