Frequently asked questions

Why use genuine Weathertex hardware on a Weathertex install?
Weathertex's installation warranty is conditional on using the matched fixing, jointing and trim components specified for each profile. Substituting generic flashings, joiners or corner sets can invalidate compliance with the Weathertex installation manual and create thermal-bridging, water-shedding or movement-joint problems that would otherwise be designed out. Specifying the genuine Weathertex hardware range alongside the cladding itself protects the warranty and the integrity of the wall.
What cavity components does Birak stock?
Birak stocks 10mm Cavity Closer Small, 20mm Cavity Closer Large Primelok and 35mm Cavity Closer XLarge — all in 1.830m lengths — plus 45x9.5 W/tex Cavity Battens in 1.22m. These components form the air gap behind Weathertex cladding that drains incidental moisture, allows the back face to dry, and meets contemporary cavity-cladding best practice for Australian conditions. The closer size selected depends on the cladding profile and substrate combination.
What corners, joiners and trim are available?
The corner range includes Internal and External LF Corners, Combo Corners, External Corners in 3.0m and 3.66m, Internal W-Corners in Small and Large, plus External Corner Plugs and Soakers (Bag 10/25). Joiners are profile-specific — 75mm Selflock Smooth Traditional, 150mm Ecogroove (Smooth/Woodsman), 150mm Smooth Vgroove, 170mm Concealed/Federation/Shadowood, 200mm and 300mm Weatherboard joiners, plus aluminium Z Flashings, Window Surround/End Stops and dedicated W/Groove and Weathergroove joiners.
Does Weathertex hardware through Birak count toward IPP targets?
Yes. Birak is Supply Nation Registered, so all genuine Weathertex hardware — base trims, corner soakers, cavity closers, battens, joiners, flashings and corner systems — purchased through us counts toward your 4% Indigenous Procurement Policy target. Bundling Weathertex cladding and the matched hardware on a single Indigenous-supplier purchase order is the cleanest way to maximise IPP-eligible spend across the cladding package.
Can Birak deliver Weathertex hardware Australia-wide alongside the cladding?
Yes. Most cladding suppliers stock either the boards or the accessory range but not both, and most operate state-by-state. Birak ships the complete Weathertex board range plus the genuine hardware — base trims, cavity closers, battens, corners, joiners and flashings — to every state and territory on a single purchase order. Typical lead times are 5–10 business days, so the cladding and its matched accessories can land together.
