Frequently asked questions
What are Champion DAR boards used for?
Champion Std + Better DAR boards are dressed-all-round pine boards used for general fitout, internal lining, shelving, joinery substrates and architectural detailing where a clean four-sided finish is required. Birak stocks the range from 42x19 through 70, 90, 120, 140, 190, 240 and 290x19 — covering tight architrave widths through to wide single-piece shelving and internal feature wall boards. The Std + Better grade balances visual quality with cost-effectiveness for project work.
What is Baltic Regency V-joint and where is it used?
140x12 Baltic STD 321 Regency V-Joint is a tongue-and-groove pine lining board with a chamfered face that creates a distinctive V-shape at every joint when installed. It is widely used as ceiling and wall lining in renovations, alfresco soffits, traditional Queenslanders, and ceiling features in modern builds. Stocked in 3.6–6.0m lengths through Birak, it suits both painted and clear-finished applications.
What CCA sawn and merch grade timber is included?
Birak stocks 150x25 CCA WAT OPG Sawn H3 in 4.8–6.0m for treated rough boards, 150x25 Green Sawn Case board in 4.8 and 6.0m for crating and short-term applications, 38x38 Green Sawn Battens in 3.6m for furring and packing work, plus 90x35 and 90x45 Merch grade in 3.0–6.0m and 3.6–6.0m respectively. Together this covers the unseen, secondary and lining timber on most fitout jobs.
Does pine dressed board spend through Birak qualify for IPP?
Yes. Birak is Supply Nation Registered, so all Champion DAR, Baltic Regency V-joint, STD flooring, CCA sawn, green sawn battens and merch-grade timber purchased through us counts toward your 4% Indigenous Procurement Policy target. Because dressed boards are typically a high-volume background spend on builds, channelling them through an Indigenous-owned supplier is one of the more efficient ways to grow IPP-eligible procurement without changing what gets specified.
Can Birak ship dressed boards Australia-wide?
Yes. Pine dressed board suppliers are usually state-bound, but Birak ships the full Champion, Baltic, STD flooring and merch-grade range to every Australian state and territory. Typical lead times are 5–10 business days on stocked sizes, with larger project orders scheduled to your construction program. A single Birak purchase order can combine dressed boards, mouldings, fascia and structural pine — which is impossible with most state-only suppliers.
