Exterior Plywood
Plywood manufactured to AS/NZS 2271 with Type A bond for non-structural external applications such as soffits, signage, and decorative cladding.
Plywood manufactured to AS/NZS 2271 (Plywood and blockboard for exterior use) with Type A phenolic bond, intended for non-structural external applications. Typical uses include eaves and soffit linings, decorative cladding, signage, and garden furniture. Veneer quality is suited to a paintable or sealable face but is not as tightly controlled as marine plywood, and there is no assigned stress grade. The A-bond glue line will not delaminate in wet exposure, but the timber itself remains vulnerable to fungal decay unless treated to a hazard class under AS/NZS 1604.3. For buyers, exterior plywood is a cost-effective alternative to marine plywood where structural performance is not required, but the panels need a paint or stain finish and proper detailing (capping, drip edges) to achieve a long service life outdoors.
